POD XT Project Part 3
Connecting to the Pod XT Live
Now you've probably got a good understanding of what the Pod XT is all about, the next part is actually getting connected to it.
You can do either two things
1. Connect it to an amp source
2. Connect it to a recording output (such as your computer)
To connect it to your amp follow these steps.
Plug a cable to the back of your Pod XT Live into the L/Mono output

Next plug the other end into your amp source. I'm using a Marshall combo amp, so plug the cable into the input.

The next step is connecting your guitar to your Pod XT Live. You want to connect it to the Input, and change the pad to norm if your guitar has normal output pickups, or pad if your guitar has hot output pickups.

Great. Now next to the L/mono Output there's a level knob. You'll want to turn that down all the way before you turn on your amp. Also, make sure that the switch above the knob is set to amp.
Now turn on the Pod XT Live. Once the screen loads up press the button below it that says Output Mode, and change it to whatever you're using. If you're using a combo amp like me, then set it to combo poweramp. Now turn on the amp. You won't hear anything at first that's because you have to turn up the level knob. Turn it up a little, you don't want to go over the amp volume. If you do that will just create a lot of unwanted feedback from your amp, and you won't be able to get a good tone.
Now if you want to connect your Pod XT Live for recording purposes, this process is very simple.
First plug in the USB cable from the Pod XT to your computer

Now your POD XT Live is set up to your computer, and you'll be given instructions on how to install the software, and patches that are needed.
